United Way for Jackson, George & Greene Counties (United Way JGGC) funds 14 health and human service agencies and programs in the local community. By giving to United Way JGGC, you are helping friends, families, and neighbors in our community succeed in life and receive help when they need it most. Below are the 14 member agencies and programs United Way JGGC currently funds:

Adrienne’s House

  • Provided 4,754 nights of service to adults and children fleeing domestic violence
  • Served 14,262 meals
  • Provided 96 individual counseling sessions and 24 family counseling sessions

American Red Cross of Southeast MS

  • Provided emergency financial assistance to fire victim families in Jackson and George counties
  • Provided case services to military families in Jackson and George counties
  • Taught lifesaving First Aid/CPR classes to residents of Jackson and George counties

Boy Scouts of America (Pine Burr Area Council)

  • Helped youths earn the rank of Eagle Scout
  • Provided service hours with Scouts and adult leaders

Boys & Girls Clubs of Jackson County

  • Provided a 10-month after-school program and an 8-week summer program

  • Taught character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, arts, sports, fitness, recreation, technology, and STREAM to youth between the ages of 5 and 18
  • Employed 3 of our Boys & Girls Club Alumni college students through our Career Launch/Workforce Program

CASA of Southeast Mississippi

  • Provided 3,191 volunteer hours of direct services by 116 CASA volunteers
  • Advocated for 153 abused and neglected children in Jackson, George & Greene counties
  • Reunified 13 children with their families; 49 children found loving and forever homes through adoption and/or durable legal custody; 64 children served and released from custody
  • Helped “Change a Child’s Story” for 47% of the children in custody due to abuse and neglect

Catholic Charities of South Mississippi

  • Had a 71% completion rate

Mississippi Gulf Coast YMCA

  • Provided water safety education and free swim lessons to Jackson County 3rd grade students; provided 3,416 free swim lessons to help children gain essential swimming skills
  • Awarded $5,600 in scholarships to individuals for childcare
  • Served 571 participants in the Health Living Program to promote wellness and active lifestyles
  • Engaged 1,500 participants through Y on the Fly community outreach program

Pregnancy Resources of Mississippi (PROMISS)

  • Provided 58,829 baby and maternity items to parents through the Earn While You Learn Program  
  • Taught 4,091 parenting and prenatal lessons

The Salvation Army

  • Served 4,291 persons for the first time through social service programs
  • Provided 5,946 food boxes through the food pantry
  • Sent 30 children to experience The Salvation Army summer camp
  • Recorded 29,530 volunteer hours from 263 individuals
