DuPont First Chemical Hosts Annual Community Awards Banquet
Scholarships, Grants Awarded
PASCAGOULA, Miss.
, May 16, 2012 – DuPont’s First Chemical subsidiary awarded $49,000 in scholarships and grants to local high school students and nonprofit groups at their annual Community Awards Banquet. Awards recipients received checks ranging in value from $500 to $11,000 along with words of congratulations during a luncheon Wednesday at
Scranton
’s Restaurant.
Terrell Taylor, Six Sigma Black Belt, of DuPont’s First Chemical subsidiary, was pleased to make the awards. “First Chemical and DuPont are committed to active support of the communities where we live and operate. First Chemical has been part of

since the 1960’s and community involvement has always been, and continues to be, an important element of the company’s overall values,” he said.
Eight local students earned “First Chemical Scholarships.” The $1,300 awards will help to defray the cost of college or vocational education. Students are selected for the program based on nominations from area high schools, academic achievement and citizenship. The 2012 Honorees of the “First Chemical Scholarship” are:
