Contribute to the United Way for Jackson and George Counties

United Way for Jackson and George Counties raises funds each year during campaign to support 23 agencies and programs in the two-county service area. Through employee campaign coordinators, local workplaces conduct individual campaigns that allow their employees the opportunity to contribute to UWJGC via payroll deduction or a one-time annual gift. This ongoing partnership with area employers assures that each worker can play a critical role in caring for his or her community.

Volunteer throughout the year

Volunteers everywhere are at the heart of what's great about America. We thank all the volunteers who give us something extra. They lend a helping hand and wherever they are, good things happen. United Way for Jackson & George Counties invites you to volunteer in your community. If you're interested in lending your time and talents, please give us a call at 228-762-8557 (1-800-762-8557 in George County) or call 2-1-1 (Mississippi's information and referral call center) for additional opportunities in your area.

Each year following campaign, volunteers from across the community come together to decide what agencies and programs will be funded by UWJGC for the upcoming year. The volunteers meet with agency representatives and ask questions about budgets, services, and community needs. They then decide what amount of funds will be allocated to each member agency. This is called the allocations process and it’s based on the principle that the community should decide how to use community funds.
