Mental Health Resources

Stock-Health-Hands.jpgAs part of United Way's continued work to identify areas of unmet need in our community, we have created programs to help address the need for mental health support and resources in Jackson and George Counties.  We brought together groups of professionals to tackle this issue and provide help to those in need in our community.

After months of meeting, researching and contacting healthcare providers, United Way volunteers have created a Mental Health Resource Directory that lists all the availalble services with facility contact information, hours of operation and provider names for individuals and businesses to use when searching for mental health assistance.

Click here to access the complete Mental Health Resource Directory.

Copies of the Mental Health Resource Directory have been made availalble to local clinics, hospitals, therapists, educational and business outlets in Jackson and George Counties.

In additon to creating the Mental Health Resource Directory, United Way has awarded grant money to Health & Handicapped Services and Gulf Coast Family Counseling, two Untied Way member agencies, to offer a new mental health counseling program and perscription assistance plan.  To find out more about this program, please contact the following agencies:
